Style: Jazz-influenced jam rock; compare to Mike Farris, Jonny Lang, Robert Randolph
Top tracks: "You Set the Rhythm," "Listen to the Lord," "That's Exactly (How I Like It)"
Much of what made Newworldson a media sensation with its 2008 debut Salvation Station was the band's ability to excellently integrate jazz, blues, gospel and pop all within a jam-heavy, modern rock framework. Though those trends continue to a certain extent on this self-titled follow-up, one can't help but notice that the original magic and delightfully complex musical mayhem seems dialed down a notch. While the group has every right to toss in a few mid-tempo pop tunes, they're far less interesting when compared to the otherwise hearty assortment of rootsy barnburners.

I just downloaded this album from iTunes because I heard "There is a way".
My favorites are: In Your Arms, There is a Way, Rocky Road, Commander, Total Eclipse, and Weary.
This is a refreshing addition to my personal collection.
O plan on purchasing more from New World Son.
Thank you to the band. Keep up the good work.
