Top tracks: “Hallelu,” “This Window,” “How He Loves”
The new album by native Aaron Crider feels, upon first listen, to have a workmanlike quality, sticking to the well plotted-out map of modern worship music. But to read the story behind many of these songs—including some very personal hardships in his family—The Change resonates much deeper and rings truer than most works of its ilk. The soaring, piano-driven “Hallelu” and his warm take on John Mark McMillan’s modern classic “How He Loves” provide prime examples of a man who has come through a dark period with his faith intact and stronger as a result.
