Positively charged pop music has its time and place, specifically on major network reality shows and mainstream radio. Battistelli has already seen plenty of time in both, bolstered by a Grammy nomination for Best Gospel Performance and a couple Dove awards. Her latest album is as poppy as her 2008 debut, My Paper Heart, with a little bit of modern country flare. It’s appropriate music for sunny days and chipper attitudes. Even in the songs about dealing with hard times, she sings a hopeful melody, “Open your window, let the light shine in / This is life, don’t miss it.”
