Sounds like: Burnished, radio-ready rock; compare to Skillet, Creed, Red
Top tracks: “I Wanna Know You Like That,” “Lighthouse,” “Stranger”
The debut album by this Nashville band carries a sound as buffed and polished as the Photoshopped shot of the foursome that graces the LP’s cover. The slick production of this self-titled effort gives every guitar chord a watery sheen and molds frontman Alan Powell’s vocals into frothy piles of aural cotton candy. No one should doubt that, spiritually, these guys have their hearts in the right place, as they use every song to proclaim their allegiance to Christ. But it doesn’t make any effort to differentiate itself from every other faith-based rock band on the radio these days.
