All We Need is the first regular studio album Rachael Lampa has released since 2004—there have been a hits compilation, a Christmas single, and an EP in the meantime—and it serves notice that the booming voice that made her a teen pop star in 2000 is as potent as ever. As far as comebacks go, however, it’s not a triumphal return so much as a serviceable reminder of what Lampa has always been—a good pop singer in need of stronger material and stronger production. This is a decent, polished pop outing, heavy on ballads and with a light R&B bent, and sounds like it could have been made at any point over the last decade. That said, the songs are devotional and unequivocal in their Christian zeal, if a bit too reliant on clichés to really stand out.
