Top Tracks: “For the Heartbreak,” “Reveal the Kingdom”

With over ten years of experience in the industry, Downhere continues to mature both sonically and thematically. Their latest release once again proves the group’s vocal versatility and solid sound. While they experiment with styles from Groban-like pop (“Let Me Rediscover You”) and jagged rock (“Seek”), their most successful is that of their worship tracks, which have the most smooth, consistent arrangements and structure. Lyrically, Downhere oscillates between poetry and over-sentimentality; however, the album’s overall themes resound with the truth of divine love, redemption and healing in the face of brokenness.
