Buckingham’s sixth solo effort is truly that. Every plucked out note, vocal harmony, and capering electronic rhythm comes right from the hands of the 61-year-old musician. The former Fleetwood Mac singer’s humility, his romantic ideals, and his search for understanding in a fractured world all play equal parts in these songs. The core of the album resides in a song like “End of Time,” a jubilant tune that faces oblivion with acceptance and joy: “When we get to the other side/maybe there we’ll make amends.”
