On his sixth full-length album, Agnew pays homage to classic hymns without ever losing that grungy edge in his deep and powerful voice. Every line is for Christ, and Agnew’s lyrics often focus on God’s sacrificial love. He sings, “The nails pierced your hands and your feet / Your blood spilt so we can taste and see / That you are good,” and “Jesus, worthy is the lamb that was slain for us / Son of God and man, you are high and lifted up / And all the world will praise your great name.” These are songs for Easter Sunday, or any setting where Christians want to praise God.
