While all credit must be given to Jaffe for daring to push her own musical boundaries on her third album, the young singer-songwriter shares the praise with her choice of collaborator John Congleton. The producer has wrapped Jaffe’s usual quiet folk leanings in guises from shoegazer to psychedelic to a fun-house mirror version of electro pop. Jaffe rises to the musical challenge pushing her already thrilling vocals into higher soulful registers. And she digs deeper and deeper into her own life and the souls of her fellow humans, asking tough questions of both about their actions and intentions.
