Top tracks: “A Thousand Little Things,” “Only Jesus,” “Wash Me Away”

By this point in their long and successful career, the most sensible move that Point of Grace could make would be to just go all-out country. A Thousand Little Things‘ handfuls of shining moments are reminiscent of early Norah Jones, but the moments are too few. The trio flirts with slide guitars, mandolins, and even hints of twang in the harmonies; but there’s still too much sappy CCM in the way of any revitalizing evolution. It doesn’t help that some of this album’s most prominent lyrics are painfully clichéd. The opening lines are, “Upside down and inside out, I think ya know what I’m talking about!” There’s no excuse for that kind of sing-along corniness.
