The O.C. Supertones have picked up where they left off, which is embarrassing. Ska’s semi-popularity in the mid-'90s found these ska-punk kids in the right place at the right time, but the now middle-aged parents and pastors could not be further away from that place and time. Upbeat guitar strums, blaring horn sections, and rude boy vocals are all here, as are the biblical lyrics. Former ska kids will take a fun nostalgia trip when they hear this album, but that’s the best that can be said about it. The music trends have drifted so far away from this style, this reunion seems a few years too early.
