Sounds like: Worship pop; compare to Chris Tomlin, Natalie Grant, Casting Crowns

Top tracks: "The Kindness Of You," "You Still Amaze Me," "You Never Let Go"

In other universe, Rebecca St. James could be the front woman for a classic mid-'90s British pop band, so perfectly does she capture the nuanced balance between earthy and ethereal in her marvelous singing. In this world, though, the 33-year-old vocalist and songwriter has released another fine album of classic and new worship songs. It has a radio-ready sheen (courtesy of Mark Miller, best known for his work with Casting Crowns), but it is St. James' voice that keeps it from getting far too glossy. And when the production and performance lock up like puzzle pieces, as it does on her cover of Matt Redman's "You Never Let Go" and the fantastic "The Kindness Of Our God", I Will Praise You is without peer.
