Let Us Pray Anyway

Although the response is sometimes delayed or denied, our prayers always matter.

“Prayer doesn’t change anything” is a sentiment Heather has heard often, even from Christians. Today, she shares a devotional reminder that will hopefully encourage you to pray confidently, no matter how dire the circumstance.

Every Monday for the rest of 2023, Heather is bringing you brief messages of encouragement to provide an extra boost for your week.

Today’s Scripture begins with Daniel 9:23, where the angel Gabriel tells Daniel, “As soon as you began to pray, a word went out, which I have come to tell you, for you are highly esteemed.” And in Daniel 10:12, the angel continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them” (NIV).

Daniel’s example of faithfulness inspires us to persevere in prayer. Keep circling, keep seeking, keep believing. The Lord is near, and our prayers to him matter.
