The Anglican Communion's disagreement over orthodoxy and practice has involved many issues that affect the church as a whole: homosexuality, ordination, property ownership, and global leadership are among the bones of contention. In the past year, Global South leaders issued an ultimatum for the U.S. Episcopal Church to return to orthodox interpretation of Scripture, four U.S. dioceses took steps to exit the church, and a conservative new Anglican province in the U.S. was formed.
