Christian Music You Haven’t Heard

Having trouble finding Icelandic techno in your bookstore? Try online

Despite the variety of Christian music—from hard-rock p.o.d. to soft-pop p.o.g. (Point of Grace)—most is pretty mainstream, predictable stuff. Not so online. You’ll still have a hard time finding Christian zydeco or Jesus surf music, but there are many other genres you won’t find at the local Christian store. Especially good is Live365.com, which streams music in nearly 100 different Christian genres. ChristianTuner.com has more links.

Arabic

www.live365.com/stations/164456 We don’t speak Arabic, but we can’t understand Christian punk band mxpx either.

Blues

genres.mp3.com/music/blues/spiritual_blues A nice variety of blues, both acoustic and electric, but the quality is mixed too.

Celtic

www.celticchristiantunes.com Tin whistles, bagpipes, bodhráns, and the occasional electric guitar by professionals.

Icelandic Techno

www.kfm.is Interspersed between bands like Jars of Clay are some seriously cool dance tunes.

Jesus music

www.geocities.com/jesusmusicoldies/ The closest you’ll get to a Christian “oldies” station.
