After rising to national attention with a string of addictive radio singles and industry accolades, the Gospel Music Association’s 2009 New Artist of the Year avoids the dreaded sophomore slump with a fine second set of infectious pop/rock. Rather than pushing the envelope, the trio wisely builds on the momentum of their celebrated debut, issuing eleven tunes ready to rouse arenas of young seekers with musical verve and raw lyrical emotion. And though the tried-and-true formula breeds little innovation, these boys understand how to lay down mighty melodies doused in hope-heavy messages.
