The ’90s have been gone for over a decade, but you wouldn’t guess it after hearing The Cranberries’ sixth full-length album. Singer Dolores O’Riordan still has a softly sweet voice, complementing the Irish band’s acoustic guitar-fronted alternative rock. Though not the type of album that will thrust the band back into the pop spotlight they enjoyed with “Zombie,” the music is strong enough to please any diehard fans. More innocuous than engrossing, this is a simple and pleasant album that banks harder on nostalgia than any new ideas. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing, not for The Cranberries anyway.
