Died • Howard Hendricks, Longtime Dallas Theological Seminary professor who mentored many pastors and leaders, including Chuck Swindoll. He was 88.

Awarded • Alvin Plantinga, the prestigious Nicholas Rescher Prize for Contributions to Systematic Philosophy. Plantinga is professor emeritus at Calvin College's philosophy department.
