The New Creation

‘A choir of a thousand tongues / singing we’ll no longer toil.’

Based on Isaiah 65:17–25

Our God, we have taken no sweeter breath than this! Spring air in new lungs a choir of a thousand tongues singing we’ll no longer toil. Green blades rise from past-neglected soil to life, for You have risen from death! Our God, we have taken no sweeter breath.

Our God, we have known no sweeter work than this! Now will we pluck the grapes in our hands Now will we taste their juices and dance as if being born for the third time for You have turned water into wine have led us out of the mire, the murk Our God, we have known no sweeter work.

Our God, we have seen no sweeter world than this! The wolf, its once-stony eyes tender now, the lamb beside it, lies while birds with flapping wings take flight like the very heartbeat of Your delight. God, we wait for Your hand to unfurl:

Behold, You will make for us this world.
