The Wisdom of Backward Design

In God’s purpose for your life, sometimes reverse is the best way forward.

Your life is not meaningless. This day actually matters. What if you were to see your life through the lens of backward design? How would it change your perspective?

Today Heather shares a devotional reminder that will stir your sense of purpose and remind you that God is always working for your good, even when it feels like you’re sinking backward into a quagmire of hopelessness.

Every Monday for the rest of 2023 Heather will bring you an encouraging word in under ten minutes. This week’s Scripture passage is Philippians 1:6, which says:

“I am sure of this, that he who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Christian Standard Bible).

Host Bio Heather Thompson Day is an associate professor of communication at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan. She is the author of eight books, including I’ll See You Tomorrow and It’s Not Your Turn.
