The Bulletin

You’re Gonna Need A Bigger Ballot

GOP presidential candidates offer weak hope and a new anti-LBGTQ law shakes up Uganda.

The last two weeks have brought new GOP candidates into the spotlight. Senator Tim Scott, governor Ron DeSantis, former vice-president Mike Pence, and former New Jersey governor Chris Christie have all thrown their hats into the ring with hopes (however slim) of winning the nomination. But do any of them really think they can win?

This week on The Bulletin, hosts Mike Cosper and editor in chief Russell Moore talk with Nicole Martin about the Republican lineup and the prospects for hope in an otherwise bleak season of American political life. The trio discuss each major candidate, explore the unique appetites of the GOP, and wonder together whether a candidate’s genuine faith is actually viewed as a detractor in a culture where cut-throat politics is celebrated. Later in the episode, Martin and Moore take the lead to speak truth about the recent Ugandan anti-LGBTQ law, its fatal flaws and the better way to which Jesus calls us.

Joining us this week: Nicole Martin serves Christianity Today as chief impact officer after serving on its board of directors. Nicole oversees three major strategic initiatives that are shaping the future of CT including The Global Initiative, the Big Tent Initiative, and the Next Gen Initiative.
