Critics' Choice Awards of 2010
A stuttering monarch, a Facebook flick, and a truly gritty western top our list.

Last week, we rolled out our Most Redeeming Movies of 2010.

This week, it's our Critics' Choice Awards, in which we recognize those films that our panel believes were the best movies of the year as movies, whether they carried a redeeming message or not.

I appreciate that you put out these lists, BUT, they do not mean much without some small explanation of why you chose the movies you did and put them in the order you did. I understand that we can click to read the original review, but it's interesting to hear why a movie is later chosen to be a 'best' of movie. Why put Tangled ahead of Black Swan? Why not have Toy Story 3 higher? That kind of thing. Also, you are so LATE with your lists that they become kind of meaningless. There is nothing new for me here because I've already read so many others' lists. I just get the impression the best of and most redeeming lists were thrown together without much effort. I like reading your reviews, but these lists need some punch to them to be sure.
