Ron Blue and the late Larry Burkett—two well-known gurus of biblical finance—team up for a one-two punch on building or rebuilding a God-honoring financial portfolio.

Targeted toward those who are 50 years old and older, Burkett and Blue discuss “financial fear” among Christians in this age group.

There’s sound advice on retirement (“view retirement as a sustainable slowdown instead of a work stoppage”), budgeting myths and truths, counsel on insurance (including long-term care insurance), estate planning, and even some counsel on how much to spoil the grandkids.

Their advice is sometimes simple (invest your surplus, stay out of debt, spend less than you earn) but can also become detailed, as when they discuss sequential strategies for investing. Case studies help illustrate their points, and charts, Q&A’s, and questions for reflection help the reader engage with and apply the information.

Readers concerned about their investments as they approach retirement will find practical financial wisdom distilled here.
