Some disgruntled letter-writers have made it quite clear that they do not think a column written by a woman should be called “A Layman and His Faith.” The name was selected by the originator of the column, the late L. Nelson Bell, and we have not been in a hurry to change it. But now we invite readers to help us make a change. We have already turned down “A Laywoman and Her Faith”; we would like a name suitable for either a male or a female writer. I’ll announce with gratitude the name of anyone who sends us a winning idea—and extend his or her subscription for a year with our compliments.1
