On Sunday mornings, senior pastor David Hughes promotes Jesus from the pulpit of Coral Baptist Church in Coral Springs, Florida. But during the week, his parishioners might see him in his other job, as a model pitching Kmart, McDonald's, Disney World, State Farm, Toyota, Ford, or one of the other subjects of his 350-plus commercials.
His wife, who is also his agent, says it's his missionary work. "God wants us to be in the marketplace," she says. But not completely: the couple canceled their move to Hollywood in the late 1990s, when Coral Baptist asked him to preach.
