Jaye Martin

Jaye is the creator of HeartCall Women's Evangelism and is the women's evangelism

strategist for the North American Mission Board (NAMB) of the Southern Baptist Convention. She also serves as director of women's programs at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (SBTS) in Louisville, Kentucky.

Jaye invited Christ to be her Lord and Savior at the age of seven. She was raised in Kingsport, Tennessee and graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville in 1978 with a BS in professional interior design. Upon graduation, she followed God's leadership to Houston, worked as a designer and in the youth ministry at church until 1984 when he called her into the evangelism ministry.

After graduation from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (SWBTS) in December 1988, Jaye joined the staff at Houston's First Baptist Church in 1989. She was minister of evangelism, women and prayer until November 1997, when she began working for NAMB. In June 2005, Jaye joined the staff of SBTS, where she is also working on her dissertation for an Ed.D in leadership.

Jaye uses her gifts of evangelism and leadership by speaking, vision casting, developing strategies, and serving on various steering committees. "To know Christ, share him, and lead others to do the same" would best define Jaye's purpose in life. She is an inspirational and motivational speaker who speaks on knowing, sharing, and leading as well as other Bible studies and topics. She has taught on the campuses of six seminaries and several colleges as an adjunct teacher/guest lecturer. She speaks to thousands of women all over the United States and Canada and has trained numerous HeartCall Leader of Leaders who do conferences and breakouts for her.

Jaye loves to write. She has written HeartCall: Women Sharing God's Heart, "HeartTalk", "HeartTalk Leader", HeartCall: A New Heart!, a chapter in the books Women Reaching Women and Transformed Lives: Taking Women's Ministry to the Next Level, compiled and contributed to HeartCall: The Call to Prayer as well as written numerous articles. She is currently writing a book on women's leadership.

In 1979, she married Dana Martin, now an attorney, deacon, and Bible study teacher. They have one daughter, Kelli, born in October 1986, who attends Texas A&M University. Jaye and her family serve and are members at Second Baptist Church, Houston where she disciples a group of young moms. She considers her neighborhood to be her marketplace and is actively involved there as well. Jaye loves the Lord and loves women. Nothing makes her happier than to see the Lord and women come together. She has a passion for sharing Christ and helping women to be the leaders that God has called them to be.
