Editor’s Note from August 27, 1976

Letters have poured in concerning an advertisement placed in CHRISTIANITY TODAY by some evangelicals for Jimmy Carter. The magazine’s board and staff include Republicans and Democrats. We do not endorse any particular candidate. If any evangelicals want to place ads for the Republican candidate, we will accept them. We do think our readers should know what the candidates stand for. It is quite possible that a good Christian might make a bad president. We urge every reader to vote—under God, and led by the Spirit. And let’s be grateful that the presidential brouhaha comes along only every four years!
