Hungry for Something More

Unitarian Universalism and Wicca don’t mix well in Houston.

Mary LeBlanc says the Unitarian Fellowship she attends in Houston is a little too open to various religious beliefs. According to the Houston Chronicle, when LeBlanc told these Unitarians that she is a Wiccan (witch), they hounded her to teach them her rituals. They even scheduled her to lead a Wiccan ceremony. After she repeatedly refused, explaining that Wiccans “hold their rituals in private and do not train non-Wiccans in the performance of their rituals,” the Unitarians reportedly tried to infiltrate meetings at her home. She’s now seeking $3 million in damages for emotional distress and aggravation of her heart condition.
