Top tracks: “Made for You,” “Listen to the Sound,” “Walls Are Coming Down”

Instead of trying to rewrite the monster hit “Glory Defined” or retread the same old grunge-inspired modern rock, Building 429 is breaking out of its safe haven. Here, they’re interjecting more rhythmic pop and electronically-spiked rock into songs with more lyrical depth. Frontman Jason Roy touches upon his turbulent childhood, addresses concerns about economic stability, and reminds downtrodden believers that an eternal destiny awaits. Though they’re taking a few good risks here, a few typical AC tunes keep it from being a better album, but it’s still their best disc to date.
