For Stampley’s fifth CD, the soulful gospel veteran partners with Mathew Knowles’ Music World, the company responsible for bringing his daughter Beyoncé to worldwide prominence. Though there’s surely crossover potential as a result of the partnership, (similar to Marvin Sapp’s recent mainstream breakout), Stampley never waters down his message. He boldly addresses our need for the Lord and faith’s ability to sustain in seasons of brokenness. And for every emotional ballad, there are moments of foot-stomping, R&B-infused praise, all sung with crystal clarity and striking purity.
