Deaths, retirements, resignations and appointments in the church and in the world.

Died • Michael O’Rear, president and CEO of Global Mapping International and Lausanne Movement technology advisor, on January 14 in Colorado Springs after a heart attack. He was 57.

Died • B. Sam Hart, pastor and founder of the Grand Old Gospel Fellowship (now GOGF Ministries), on January 19 in Pennsylvania. He was 80.

Resigned • James MacDonald, founding member of the Gospel Coalition, from its council on January 24. Other council members had asked the pastor of suburban Chicago’s Harvest Bible Chapel not to include T. D. Jakes in his Elephant Room conference.
