Top tracks: “These Things Take Time,” “Take Over Me,” “Forgiven”

Now with five studio CDs under its belt, Sanctus Real remains a dependable, commercially viable force, though with noticeable evolution. The band members are now all “grown up,” writing about family life and trying to keep their private lives afloat, while developing a more refined and mature pop/rock sound. They still pack plenty of energy and overflow with sunny harmonies, but now with swelling keyboards and the occasional string accompaniment. That combination might be too glossy for the more alternative-minded, but the confessional lyrics challenge listeners toward change.
