Lost Messengers: The Outtakes

Top Tracks: “Chasing the Dragon” “Carol of the Bells” “Your Beautiful Mind 2009”

In a nutshell: August Burns Red (ABR) is quickly becoming a metal lover’s best friend. On Lost Messengers: The Outtakes, ABR releases tracks that didn’t make it onto 2007’s Messengers. And it’s a great move. Fans will be pleased because Lost Messengers  is an album of songs that need to be heard. The tight but chaotic rhythms on songs like “Truth of a Liar” and “Chasing the Dragon” and the skillfully harmonized guitar riffs make these outtakes album-worthy. An added treat is that the album booklet comes with a handwritten explanation from the band of these songs and lyrics. ABR says this album is a little “thank you” to their loyal fans, and I think fans will be saying “thank you” back.
