Borrowing a phrase from Dr. Steven Garber, Amy L. Sherman says that vocation is integral, not incidental, to God's mission in the world. She points to the work and ministry of Jesus, who brings a foretaste of the Kingdom of God. We are to follow his example and be "foretaste bringers" by developing a healthy, intentional doctrine of faith and vocation.
