Style: 80s throw-back synth-pop; sounds like Owl City, Postal Service

Top Tracks: "Easy" "Sleep to Dream" and "Jacques Cousteau"

At first listen, this album gives off a bubble-gum pop feel that would leave most people cringing. But it only takes about a minute for this throw-back synth-pop to become infectious. Frontman Austin Tofte--the one-man band who makes up SWD--used to team with friend Adam Young to form Owl City, but both have gone their separate ways. Water Colors has the same innocent sweetness and feel-good nature as some of Young's music. Upbeat tunes like "Easy" and "Jacques Cousteau" create a certain sense of nostalgia, and just in time for a soundtrack for summer driving.
