Style: Commercial bluegrass; compare to Dailey and Vincent, Patty Loveless, Alison Krauss & Union Station
Top tracks: "I Feel Closer to Heaven Everyday," "Blue Sky Cathedral," "Walking My Lord (Up Calvary's Hill)"
Recording various spiritually minded tracks throughout her nearly four-decade career, plus performances on Bill Gaither's Homecoming series, the "New Queen of Bluegrass" is no stranger to gospel. On her first full-fledged faith-based album, Vincent concocts 16 songs packed with proficient picking and her legendary genre vocal. Recorded in her hometown Missouri church with her award-winning band The Rage, Vincent's traditional music aptitude is utilized especially well on the album's old hymns ("Just As I Am," "The Old Rugged Cross"). Though it charters nothing new, for bluegrass and country fans Sunday Mornin' is a Sabbath Day dream.
