Chris Seay, author of The Gospel According to Lost, offers his thoughts on the character of Sayid Jarrah. (SPOILERS AHEAD) Seay eulogizes 'one of the most introspective, deeply spiritual characters on the show,' the Iraqi soldier who gave his life so his fellow castaways might have a better chance at survival. Though this season we watched him become 'a bit of a drone,' he says, in the end he was 'a man who knew evil – who'd stared it in the face – but he didn't find evil as something outside of himself. He wasn't afraid of what lay in the jungle; he was afraid of what lay within.'
